Automatic Door Systems – Swing Doors |
Automatic swing door systems are used in buildings for pedestrian and disabled access and are perfectly suited for retrofit operations onto existing standard doors. Swing door systems are designed for either commercial applications, residential applications or fire door applications
Commercial swing
doors come as either WEL-M standard swing door operators or as WEL-E 'low energy' swing
door operator. Standard operators can be used on internal and external
doors and require pedestrian safety devices to protect the swept area of
the door leaf. ‘Low Energy’ operators can only be used on internal doors
but do not require safety devices. Swing doors usually have microwave
motion sensors to open the door and safety pressure mats or infra-red
presence sensors fitted on the door leaf internally and externally for
pedestrian safety as required. Residential swing doors come as only as SPRINT 'low energy' swing door operator. ‘Low Energy’ operators can only be used on internal doors but do not require safety devices. SPRINT doors usually use the in-built "Push and Go" system to open the door inwards and a button or mat to open the door outwards. No additional safety devices are required for the doors.
