Automatic Vehicle Bollards
– An Introduction |
|
|
|
||
|
On-street
bollard systems are primarily used for pedestrianisation of public streets
but can also be used in parking applications where a traditional barrier or
gate automation solution would not be
appropriate. A typical bollard system consists of one or more bollards
installed across the roadway and a hydraulic pump pack located adjacent to
the bollards on or near the footpath. Pedestrianisation applications usually allow delivery trucks to automatically enter and exit the pedestrianised zone within certain times for the local shops. Outside these times, vehicle access can only be gained with a valid radio transmitter or access card. Bollard
systems can also be installed in other applications, such as staff car
parking. Applications would include where there is insufficient room for an
automatic barrier, or where the controlled area is accessible to the
public. These
systems, as with all other solutions supplied by Screenguard, can be
integrated in a customised integrated solution that can encompass access
control, CCTV, gate and barrier control. |
